Your First Tattoo in Durham — Everything You Need to Know
Most of our clients each week are first-timers. There is no mystique here, no judgement, no upselling. This page walks you through every step before you walk in — what to wear, what to bring, what we will and will not do, and what to expect on the day.
What we will not do for a first tattoo
We are honest about what we will not take on. This is not us being precious — it is us protecting the result.
- •Face, neck, or hand work as a first tattoo — placements that are highly visible and have unique aging behaviour.
- •Finger tattoos for clients whose work involves heavy handwashing, gloves, or chemical exposure (they will not last).
- •Names of current partners — wait six months and we will tattoo it then if you still want it.
- •Designs we honestly think will not heal cleanly at the size or placement you have in mind.
When the right answer is somewhere else, we will tell you. We would rather you get the right tattoo than the closer one.
